A compelling element of form is line. Line
reveals ideas of motion, direction and
connection. Nature abounds with examples of
line from the dynamism of lightening to the
lassitude of illness. Line salts our
language, bottom lines, party lines, time
lines, pickup lines and fine lines. Lines
demarcate boundaries and systematize
traffic and travel. Wavelengths
characterize our knowledge of light, color
and sound. Lines carry and convey energy
essentials of water, oil and electricity.
One cannot consider networks, real or
virtual, without lines. Calabria's painting
and sculpture explore interests in form,
particularly the element of line. Paintings
investigate calligraphic line with strips,
streaks and strokes of color that affirm
dynamism and direction. Sculptures enliven
space with lines of steel and shadow. The
dialogue between the two and three
dimensional work is ongoing. Guideline:
